Richard Hadlee in full flight

Richard Hadlee is seen in action during Australia's first innings at The Gabba ground in Brisbane in November 1985. Hadlee took nine Australian wickets for 52, and he also caught the 10th off Vaughan Brown. It has been described as one of the greatest spells of test fast bowling. Australia were dismissed for 179, with New Zealand replying with a score of 553. Both Martin Crowe and J. F. Reid scored centuries and Hadlee himself scored 54. In Australia's second innings Hadlee took six wickets for 71, for a total match aggregate of 15 for 123.  New Zealand won the game by an innings and 41 runs, and they won the series 2–1.
