Hi name is Michael Smith son of Cecil, grandson of Abraham, great-grandson of Henry Smith and Mere Werahiko. Choice eh? I was born in Morrinsville 1947. My dad (Ces)was born in Paeroa 1917. His dad Abraham born at Rawene in the Hokianga. I met some old people in about 1987 at Whirinaki Hokianga They thought I was enquiring about Wikitoria Werahiko. I said no Mere Werahiko. Eventually the old lady said something like "We don't talk about her." And that was that. I have been in Australia for 15 years and have just come back. Living in Dunedin. Keen to catch up with my iwi....Mike Smith
