Seals’ movement is more cumbersome on land than in the water, where their great weight is supported by buoyancy. These New Zealand sea lions walk and run on all fours, on flippers that are more suited to swimming than walking. In this scene, the large male is using his might to keep ‘his’ females separated from other males.
