Swift Fantasy wins the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Silver Collar in 2010. Swift Fantasy became one of the few greyhounds to achieve recognition outside the racing world for her performances in staying races – not so much for her number of wins, but the manner in which she achieved them. Unusually, she dropped to the rear for most of the 750-metre event, then accelerated as the dogs headed towards the home straight, passing the entire field. This style of running provided great excitement for onlookers, and some of her major wins, such as this one, became television news. Trained by Steve Clark at Albany for owner Seamus Sutcliffe, Swift Fantasy retired from racing in June 2012 with stake earnings of $152,156 from her 14 wins and 13 placings.
