Milford Sound waterfall

Milford Sound, in the south-west of the South Island, is known as a land of waterfalls. The many fronts blown in from the Tasman Sea hit the high mountains of Fiordland and heavy rain results. Milford Sound averages over 6,000 millimetres of rain a year.
