Crew of the Mikhail Lermontov

Most of the elderly passengers aboard the Mikhail Lermontov were Australians, who were quickly flown home. But the 300 Russian crew members, some of whom are shown here arriving in Wellington, had to wait longer for flights. They endured their own grief at the loss of their ‘second home’ and some allegations that they had been better prepared than the passengers for the evacuation.
