Denny Hulme, 1967 (3rd of 3)

Denny Hulme, 1967

Denis 'Denny' Hulme, from Motueka, took part in local hill-climb events as a teenager and was known for driving barefoot. At the age of 29 he entered his first Formula One race for the Brabham team. This photo shows him two years later, in 1967, when he won the 11-race Formula One World Championship. Hulme died in 1992 while competing in the Bathurst 1000 touring-car race in New South Wales, Australia.
