Something of the beauty and natural mystery of Manaia mountain can be seen here. Little wonder that Manaia is the main ancestral mountain for the tribes living in the Whangārei area. It is named after one of the earliest ancestors.

wow i know my tribe is ngapuhi my mum had brought me a green stone for my 16th it was a manaia i thought may have been the reason why it had stayed with me for so long so pleased that manaia was my green stone
