Māori councils: Parihaka management committee

This photograph, taken in the 1880s, shows the first committee of management at Parihaka, in Taranaki. Parihaka, led by the prophets Te Whiti-o-Rongomai and Tohu Kākahi, was a type of kotahitanga (unity) movement.
