McKinlay’s was the largest footwear manufacturer making all of its product in New Zealand in the 2000s. The company was started by Robert McKinlay in 1879. Here, Graeme McKinlay holds up a pair of size 23 shoes made for, and donated to, Fijian missionary Kali Selei. Graeme McKinlay says that being able to make one-offs is a company strength. The firm has also filled special orders for films, including King Kong and River queen.
