Northern Gateway Toll Road

Northern Gateway Toll Road

This toll road, which bypasses Ōrewa on State Highway One north of Auckland, opened in 2009. The toll collection gantries calculate tolls electronically and there are no booths – sensors direct digital cameras to photograph vehicle licence plates. Regular users can open an account, and occasional users have three days to pay before an account is sent to the registered owner of the motor vehicle.
