At the Port Chalmers wharf 20,000 tonnes of logs wait for loading on board the bulk carrier Golden Star, for delivery to India. Although most primary-sector products are sold for processing within New Zealand, some, such as these forestry products, are sold unprocessed to overseas buyers.
