From China, Malaysia, India, Croatia and Singapore, these recent migrants all work voluntarily while getting used to life in their new country. Migrants form a significant number of New Zealand’s 1.2 million unpaid workers. Branka Cicak from Croatia says ‘For migratory birds like me, I recommend volunteering as the fastest and best way to get something out of the new environment while being able to give something in return.’
