P. & D. Duncan’s engineering works, Christchurch

Scottish people dominated the engineering and shipbuilding industries in all countries to which they migrated. Two pairs of Scottish brothers, the Burts in Dunedin and the Duncans in Christchurch, founded two of the country’s leading early foundries and engineering works.
