Sharemilkers of the year

Sharemilkers of the year

Matt and Julie Ross won the Sharemilker of the Year awards in 2007 at the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards. The couple was milking 800 cows on a 233-hectare property in North Otago, owned by Kelvin and Debbie Weir. Sharemilking gives young couples a chance to enter the farming industry without owning their own property – but the occupation is demanding and requires self-discipline and hard work.
