Story: Skiing

Heli-skiing

Heli-skiing

Helicopters enable skiers to reach uncrowded skiing terrain. They are widely used on skifields throughout the country. Heli-skiing developed in New Zealand in the late 1970s, and one of the first companies was Harris Mountains Heli-ski. Here one of its helicopters is taking off after dropping skiers at the top of a slope.
