Mr Drozdonski’s bullock team

Mr Drozdonski’s bullock team

Many of the Poles who settled in Taranaki in the later 19th century began working as labourers before acquiring land of their own and becoming farmers. The timber industry was a source of work for some. This bullock team, used to haul logs out of the bush, is thought to be that of a Polish immigrant, Mr P. Drozdonski.
