Filmy ferns

Filmy ferns are the largest fern family in New Zealand. They have delicate, translucent fronds and are common in wet forests. These two common species are piripiri (Hymenophyllum sanguinolentum), left, and raurenga or kidney fern (Cardiomanes reniforme).
