Thanking Kate Sheppard

Thanking Kate Sheppard

A year after women won the vote the Christchurch branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) formally thanked Kate Sheppard for her work on the campaign. This decorative address notes her perseverance, zeal and patience. ‘[T]hrough all New Zealand your name will be cherished as our leader in this movement, which places our Land as foremost in the liberation of our sex.’
