Tōhē, an important Ngāti Kahu chief, set off from his home at Kapowairua (Spirits Bay) to make a final visit to his daughter living on the Kaipara. On his way south he named all these places.

Could someone please correct this page it states Ngati Kahu, when in actual fact it is the Ngati Kuri tribe that resides and stakes claim to that kāinga Kapowairua.
