Safe in the city

Concern about increased numbers of sexual assaults in the early 21st century led to attempts to make cities safer for women. This ‘Safe in the city’ poster (produced collaboratively by the Police, Wellington City Council and the Accident Compensation Corporation) targets young women rather than those responsible for their lack of safety. It suggests that women look after one another and ‘stick with the girls’.
