Invercargill was a thriving town of around 10,000 when this postcard was made, in the 1900s. The view from the tower of the Post Office shows the Bank of New Zealand (left) and the National Bank (right) on opposite street corners, and the dome of St Mary’s Catholic Basilica in the middle distance.
