  • Beach gravels and sands

    This classic paper (PDF, 2.4 MB) by Patrick Marshall is one of the first attempts in the world to study the rounding of beach gravels using a combination of laboratory studies and field measurements. Marshall studied beaches near Napier as well as collecting offshore samples. The paper was published in the Transactions of the Royal Society of New Zealand (1929).
