‘Battle of the mountains’

This painting by Angus Kerr depicts the battle of the mountains Tongariro, Taranaki, Tauhara and Pūtauaki, who all vied for the love of the beautiful maiden mountain Pīhanga. Eventually Tongariro won, and married Pīhanga.
