A view of the Hauraki region

A view of the Hauraki region

This copy of an original painting by Wilbraham Liardet in 1869 shows part of the Hauraki region. In the foreground is a Māori village at Pārāwai, near present-day Thames. In the distance the Waihou River meanders towards a range of hills and mountains including Mt Te Aroha.
