Save or spend?

KiwiSaver, a retirement savings scheme, was introduced by the government in 2007. In its first year of operation 827,000 New Zealanders joined, choosing to save rather than spend. The savings are invested, promoting economic growth and a sounder basis for spending in the long-term.
