Nō muri, ka nōhia te pā e Ngāti Ruanui rātou ko Ngāti Haumia, ko Ngāti Tūpaia. Whai atu i te rū o te tau 1855, ka hīa te whenua ki runga, ka whakatahe ngā wai o ngā repo kia kore te tuna, te mātaitai, tae atu ki ngā pā harakeke mō te mahi muka hei hoko ki ngā tāngata whai.
