Launching Māori Television

The first broadcast of Māori Television in April 2004 was cause for celebration – it was the result of many years of pushing, through protests, the courts, the Waitangi Tribunal and lobbying. The launch, shown here, began with a blessing ceremony in the new Māori Television building in Auckland.
