Jodie Kiss, aged 19, was halfway through her automotive apprenticeship at Honda on Auckland’s North Shore in 2009. She was the only female apprentice in her workshop and felt that being a qualified car mechanic would be a great job. Her supervisor, Paul Longdill, agreed. ‘The automotive industry is now quite a thinking job, and women make very good tradespeople.’
