Bob Adams Jazz Band, 1922

Bob Adams Jazz Band, 1922

Bob Adams is credited with leading Auckland's first jazz band, though others such as Walter Smith are also contenders. Adams's jazz band was formed in the early 1920s and played regular slots at Auckland venues and balls. The band's members were, from left, F. Hunter, R. Edwards, Bob Adams, C. Adams, A. Harris, Rita Sullivan and Freda Hunter.
