Opened in December 2001, the Trevor Griffiths Rose Garden, in Timaru, has a superb collection of old rose varieties and modern hybrids. It is named in honour of a local nurseryman and author who led renewed interest in growing old rose varieties. The garden, designed by Miles Warren, comprises 60 rose beds encircling a central pergola, and contains around 1,200 types of rose.
