Brooklyn wind turbine

The Brooklyn wind turbine on Polhill was built by the Electricity Corporation of New Zealand in the early 1990s to test the feasibility of a regional wind farm. Visible from many parts of Wellington, it has been adopted by Brooklyn as its symbol.
