Warning to migrants

Warning to migrants

Many New Zealanders consider their country to be uniquely fortunate: peaceful, prosperous and harmonious. Premier Richard Seddon famously described New Zealand as ‘God’s Own Country’ – a quote now colloquially consolidated to become ‘Godzone’. Winston Peters, leader (and founder) of the New Zealand First Party, has often articulated policies critical of immigration and immigrants, as reflected in this 2005 cartoon.
