Story: Fashion and textile design

London Fashion Week

In 1999 fashion labels Karen Walker, NOM*d, WORLD and Zambesi showed at London Fashion Week at the invitation of the British Fashion Council. This was a real coup, not only for the designers, but for the New Zealand fashion industry as a whole. The four labels were sponsored by Wools of New Zealand and as this news clip makes clear, the company did this in the expectation that the exposure in London would reap dividends for the New Zealand wool industry.
