Celebrating citizenship

The naturalisation or citizenship ceremony is still an important occasion for those of other nationalities who have made the decision to become New Zealand citizens. At a ceremony held at the Wellington Town Hall on 16 August 2004, Janet Kumar (left) was present to see her mother Maha Devi Singh Munit from India (centre) take the oath of allegiance before the mayor, Kerry Prendergast (right).
