Story: Clarke, John Morrison

Clarke in print

John Clarke, dressed as Fred Dagg in a black singlet and floppy hat, sits at a table with a pile of copies of the book Fred Dagg’s year in front of him. His arm is inside a gumboot.

John Clarke published his first books during the Fred Dagg craze of the mid-1970s. Books and journalism remained a central outlet for his comedy for the rest of his career.
