New Zealand Jazz Foundation, 1980

Saxophone player Jim Langabeer demonstrates his chops for visiting US jazz tutor Tom Hart at the first national jazz clinic, organised by the New Zealand Jazz Foundation in 1980. Hart was one of 14 American tutors at the event, which was attended by 200 musicians from around the country. The Jazz Foundation had been formed earlier that year. In the 2000s it continued to run national workshops, the Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Ken Avery Memorial Scholarship Fund and other activities.
