 Wanganui Museum display, 1901

This is the main hall of Wanganui Museum in Whanganui, in 1901. The display is typical of New Zealand museums of this period, with a mix of ethnological and natural history specimens. The clutter was often due to the fact that museums had little storage space, so most of the specimens they held were on display.
