Tukutuku panel depicting Toi

Porourangi’s descendants expanded their influence through conflicts with neighbouring tribes, most of whom were also descended from Toi. This woven tukutuku image of Toi (second from left) is in the Whitirēia meeting house at Whāngārā, near Gisborne.
