Since the 1990s some school uniforms have been fairly casual and made from easy-care stretch fabrics. In 2005 Silverstream School in Mosgiel opened and the children wore a uniform comprising red polycotton tops and navy skirts and shorts. Shoes were a matter of individual preference.
