Signalbox dairy, Featherston, 1980

Joy Daley, Doreen Foss and Jim Foss are shown outside the Signalbox Dairy, where they all work, in Revans Street, Featherston, in 1980. Restrictions on Saturday shopping in 1945 led to the spread of corner dairies, which were allowed to stay open over the weekend and sell a range of goods.
