Amateur boxing match, Christchurch, 1910

Local amateur boxing clubs were started in the early 1900s. This is an amateur bout at a Christchurch club in 1910, attended by a good crowd of men. The wooden structures protruding from the ceiling are frames for speed bags, which are used for punching practice.
