Facilitators deliver a rehabilitation programme to a group of prisoners. The Department of Corrections maintains that well-designed and -delivered rehabilitation programmes can significantly reduce reoffending – an approach supported by a range of international research. Corrections tries to break the cycle of reoffending by identifying and working with those who are most likely to reoffend. Rehabilitation programmes use a combination of methods learned from practical experience and the current psychological models of criminal behaviour.
