In the late 40s, I ran for Hawkes Bay/Poverty Bay in harrier , road and cross-country, and often spent whole races trying to keep up with Gordon Vogtherr. I once came 2nd to him in a HBPB title race, and i had been the only one to keep him in sight! I may have beaten him once in a NZCC, when I came 8th, and was the first HBPB man to finish. I was most interested to see a photo this morning in the paper of Gordon, and would love to contact him if that is at all possible. I ran then for Dannevirke and Gordon for Napier I think. He may well have won the Dannevirke Rally, but possibly before my arrival there in 1948. We are both 90 I think. Thank you.
