Story: Diverse families

Sorting things out

Sorting things out

When John and Noelene became partners in 2004 they each had a child from a previous relationship. John's daughter, Maria, was eight and Noelene's daughter was just a baby. Two years later their son, Jacob, was born. They had very different ideas about how to discipline children, but went to a parenting course together called 'The Incredible Years' and learnt about what to do when children act up and get out of control. The course helped them to sort out discipline issues in their blended family. The family is shown here in 2008.
