General Synod, 1968

General Synod, 1968

The General Synod, the national conference of the Anglican Church, is hosted by each of the dioceses, or church regions, in turn. In 1968 the synod was held in Wellington for the first time in almost 20 years. Here the clergy eat breakfast at St Mary's Church hall in Karori. Members of the church from Fiji, Tonga, the Solomon Islands and the New Hebrides (now Vanuatu) attended this synod.
