Sustainable business award

Sustainable business award

Awards recognising businesses that use resources efficiently and reduce waste are part of the Sustainable Business Network's program. Sponsorship of the awards by a large insurance company (NZI) is an indicator that by 2009, sustainability had become a mainstream business value.  The winner that year was Ecostore, a cleaning and personal care manufacturer set up in 1993 by Malcolm Rands (second from left). With him, from left, are Tony Morpeth and Mitch Cuevas, both of Ecostore, and Karl Armstrong, head of NZI.
