Story: Hawke’s Bay places

Waimarama Maori Tours

Waimarama Maori Tours

Waimārama is home to one of the most successful Māori businesses in Hawke’s Bay. Waimarama Maori Tours (WMT) runs tours and corporate team-building events at the 15th-century Te Hakakino reserve in Te Āpiti Valley, which remains in Māori ownership. The reserve is also home to a native plant nursery and working farm. Conserving the area’s natural environment is a particular concern of WMT.
