A modern wood processing mill

A modern wood processing mill

This Wairarapa wood processing mill was built in 1992 by JNL (Juken Nissho Ltd), a Japanese company that also owns forests and mills in Kaitāia and Gisborne. It produces panel and veneer products, and kiln-dried lumber. Since the 1990s, as ownership of forests has diversified, more such mills have been built.
