Curled snow tussock

These curled snow tussocks (Chionochloa teretifolia) are growing on the slopes of Mt Burns, Hunter Mountains in Fiordland National Park. The species is endemic (found only in New Zealand), and grows in the Southern Alps from Canterbury to Fiordland and Stewart Island.
